Topseal Sealants specialises in the testing of new buildings to meet Building Regulations (Parts L1A and L2A).
We also can test homes which are lived in to test where air loss is occurring.
The 2010 Part L1A Building Regulations requires new dwellings to be tested for air-tightness to confirm the energy performance of new dwellings. From October 2010 it became clear that more properties are likely to need testing because untested plots will incur a 2 point penalty for non testing.
Importantly air tightness testing can prove that a dwelling meets specific standards in air permeability, providing an incentive for builders to ensure that the design is well considered and the build is of a high standard.
This means, amongst other things, reduced carbon emissions, reduced fuel bills and increased occupant comfort. This can be extremely beneficial to all houses and not just new builds and helps reduce household bills.
